Crafter: Think Spring!
The Garden Club of the Woman's Club of Albany gave out tulips in the fall of 2007 to home and business owners who were interested in beautifying their front yards or lawns. When the tulips broke through the ground this spring, the owner's sites were visited by members of the Garden Club who took photos of their tulip gardening abilities. The Garden Club then voted on the photos of the gardens that most signified a beautifying effect in the neighborhood. No particular neighborhood was targeted; the contest was for the City of Albany residents.
The Garden Club members planted 900 tulips in their front lawn last fall. The 900 bulbs included sixteen unique varieties of tulips planted. To add to the excitement of Tulip Time, the Garden Club also held a contest for all passersby of the Woman's Club mansion to vote on their favorite tulip.
These note cards are the first in a series and were designed for the Woman's Club of Albany in conjunction with the Tulip Festival in Albany, New York.
There are five note cards bound with a ribbon and encased in a plastic zip lock bag for protection from moisture. They were reprinted on Southworth Linen; each card is accompanied with an envelope.
